MTsN 6 Bantul Ninth Graders Conduct Independent Try Out Ahead of District Education Exams
Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — A total of 183 ninth-grade students of MTsN 6 Bantul participated in an independent Try Out as preparation for the official Try Out organized by the Education, Youth, and Sports Office (Dikpora) of Bantul Regency. The activity was held over two days, Tuesday–Wednesday, October 14–15, 2025, using a paper-based test system. This independent Try Out serves as a strategic measure by the school to map students’ academic abilities before facing district and national-level assessments.
The implementation of Try Outs at the junior and senior secondary levels is supported by strong legal foundations, including the Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation (Permendikbud) No. 23 of 2016 on Educational Assessment Standards and the School Examination Guidelines (POS) issued by the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP). Additionally, this academic simulation aligns with regional assessment policies designed to evaluate students’ competencies through TKAD (Regional Academic Ability Test) and TKA (National Academic Ability Test). Hence, independent Try Outs form an essential part of the national education evaluation cycle.
On the first day, students took Bahasa Indonesia and Mathematics, which are included in the TKA materials from the central level. On the second day, they worked on English and Science (IPA), which fall under the TKAD materials at the regional level. The exams were conducted from morning until midday, followed by subject-based discussions led by respective teachers to strengthen students’ understanding and improve their learning strategies.
The Principal of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono, emphasized the importance of independent Try Outs in assessing students’ readiness before the actual exams. “Through this Try Out, both teachers and students can identify strengths and weaknesses in each subject. This allows the school to provide more intensive guidance before the assessments from Dikpora or the central authorities,” he stated.
With the implementation of this independent Try Out, it is hoped that all ninth-grade students of MTsN 6 Bantul will be better prepared both mentally and academically. The evaluation of Try Out results will serve as the basis for designing enrichment and remedial programs. The school remains committed to guiding students to achieve the best results in the final exams and to uphold the good reputation of MTsN 6 Bantul at the district and national levels.
