Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — The Pekan Kompetisi Madrasah (PKM) for junior high-level madrasahs across Bantul Regency was once again held with great enthusiasm. Among the various competitions featured, the Musabaqah Hifdzil Qur’an (MHQ) — a Qur’an memorization contest — stood out as one of the most anticipated categories. This year’s MHQ focused on the memorization of two sections, Juz 30 and Juz 1, and drew 47 participants from madrasahs throughout Bantul Regency.
MTsN 6 Bantul proudly joined this prestigious event by sending two of its best students. These students had previously gone through a rigorous internal selection process at the school level, ensuring that they were fully prepared to represent their madrasah in the regency-wide competition. Their participation reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and strong religious values among its students.
The Principal of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono, emphasized that the school’s participation in the MHQ competition was not merely about winning awards, but also about fostering a deep and lasting love for the Qur’an. “We hope our students can perform at their best, but more importantly, we want them to grow in their devotion and apply the teachings of the Qur’an in their daily lives,” he stated with pride.
With nearly fifty talented participants competing, this year’s MHQ event promised a tight and inspiring contest. Students showcased not only their memorization skills but also their dedication, discipline, and passion for preserving the beauty of the Qur’an. The competition served as a meaningful platform to strengthen spiritual values and encourage healthy rivalry among young learners.
