Bantul — Head of MTsN 6 Bantul, Mr. Sugiyono, officially closed the Joint Workshop on Disaster-Safe Education Units (SPAB) held at SMP Negeri 2 Pleret on Friday (October 31, 2025). The three-day workshop, which ran from Wednesday to Friday, October 29–31, 2025, was a collaborative effort among nine educational institutions in Bantul Regency, supported by the Bantul Office of Education, Youth, and Sports (Dikpora) and the Bantul Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).
In his closing remarks, he expressed deep appreciation to the committee, speakers, and all participants who actively engaged in the workshop with enthusiasm and commitment. “The SPAB Workshop is not just a training program but a tangible expression of our commitment to building resilient schools that are ready to face disasters. The knowledge and experiences gained during this event must be followed up with concrete actions in each school. We hope that collaborative workshops like this continue to strengthen solidarity among education units,” he stated.
Mr. Sugiyono also emphasized the importance of synergy between schools, government institutions, and communities in cultivating a culture of disaster awareness in education. He noted that preparedness should not only be practiced during emergencies but must be instilled through continuous education and habit-building from an early age. “Madrasahs and schools should serve as the frontliners in disaster education. Through inter-institutional collaboration like this, we can reinforce a network of safe and resilient learning environments,” he added.
The closing ceremony took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere and concluded with a group photo of the speakers and participants. The SPAB Workshop was attended by representatives from various schools and madrasahs across Bantul Regency, including five teachers from MTsN 6 Bantul.
