Bantul (MTs Negeri 6 Bantul) — To enhance the knowledge and skills of the Youth Red Cross (PMR) members, MTsN 6 Bantul held a learning session on poisoning case handling on Saturday (November 8, 2025). The activity was part of the regular PMR extracurricular meeting that took place within the madrasah environment and aimed to build students’ awareness of health and safety in daily life.
The session was led by Muhammad Fajar Taufiq, the PMR instructor from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Bantul Branch, who provided hands-on training on how to respond to situations involving food that may no longer be safe for consumption. He also explained the immediate actions to take if someone has already consumed contaminated food and shows symptoms of poisoning. The topic was highly relevant, considering the increasing number of food and beverage poisoning (MBG) cases recently discussed across various regions.
During the training, PMR members learned about different types of poisoning, including food, beverage, medicine, and household chemical poisoning. In addition to the theoretical explanation, participants also engaged in practical simulations of first-aid responses for poisoning victims, covering key procedures such as evacuation, initial treatment, and coordination with medical personnel or the PMI.
According to the PMR instructor, Muhammad Fajar Taufiq, the main goal of this activity was to equip students with essential first-aid skills that could be applied both in school and in their communities. “We want PMR members not only to understand the theory but also to be capable of responding swiftly and appropriately in emergency situations like poisoning incidents,” he emphasized.

The madrasah emphasized that such educational programs are vital for fostering a generation that is aware of health, hygiene, and food safety.
