Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) – Three Indonesian language teachers from MTsN 6 Bantul enhanced their understanding of active learning through the MGMP forum at MTs El Muna Q Pajangan on Tuesday (September 23, 2025). The three teachers were Susi Puspita Sari, Rina Harwati, and Heisma Arya Demokrawati. The session featured Suhadi, Madrasah Supervisor from the Bantul Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as the main speaker.
Suhadi guided the teachers on how to design active learning sessions. “Active learning can be initiated through ice breaking. In addition, the concept of MIKIR should be applied to make learning more engaging,” explained Suhadi. MIKIR stands for experiencing, interaction, communication, and reflection, adapted from the Tanoto Foundation. The training became more dynamic as participants were directly involved in applying the MIKIR concept step by step.
Sugiyono, Principal of MTsN 6 Bantul, emphasized that the active participation of Indonesian language teachers in the MGMP forum is an important step toward professional development. “Congratulations to our teachers who continue to improve their competencies through this strategic platform. Hopefully, the knowledge gained can be implemented effectively in the classroom,” said Sugiyono.
Rina Harwati, one of the teachers, expressed her satisfaction with the session. “Alhamdulillah, during the self-assessment session I even received a door prize for placing third in answering the questions. The active learning concept is very suitable for students who often feel sleepy or lose focus during lessons,” Rina concluded. (rin/ewl)
