Keeping pace with ongoing curriculum developments is essential for madrasahs to ensure relevant, adaptive, and high-quality learning. Responding to these needs, Matsanaba emphasized the importance of continuously updating teachers’ understanding and skills in developing the School-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan) and implementing effective co-curricular programs that align with current policies and students’ needs.
The workshop was held on Friday, December 11, 2025, at the second-floor laboratory of MTs Negeri 6 Bantul. Designed as a capacity-building forum, the activity focused on curriculum drafting as well as sharing practical strategies for co-curricular implementation in the madrasah context.
The workshop featured Windarti, the Head of SMPN 1 Sanden, as the keynote speaker. Known for her achievements and successful implementation of co-curricular best practices at her school, Windarti shared concrete experiences and models that could be adapted by madrasahs. The session was attended by 38 teachers from various subject areas and ran from 08:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. WIB.
Head of the madrasah, Sugiyono, stated that the workshop provided valuable insights for educators. “This activity is very useful to understand and later implement, with necessary adjustments to the conditions and characteristics of our madrasah,” he said, highlighting the importance of contextual application rather than direct adoption.
Meanwhile, Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs, Rina Harwati, also stressed the significance of the workshop. She noted that such activities are crucial in strengthening teachers’ competence in curriculum development and co-curricular practice. “Through this workshop, teachers gain clearer direction and shared understanding, which will support the quality of learning and student development at our madrasah,” she affirmed.(ewh)
