In preparation for the operation of its newly constructed building funded by the State Sharia Securities (SBSN) program, MTsN 6 Bantul has continued to make various supporting facility arrangements. One of the key preparations is the installation of a clean water source through the construction of a bore well on the madrasah premises, which took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
The bore well project aims to ensure sufficient water availability to support teaching and learning activities as well as sanitation needs in the new building. The well uses a PVC pipe drilling system with a depth of approximately 16 meters, adjusted to the soil conditions and water sources surrounding the madrasah.
According to Joko Setiawan, Deputy Head of Facilities and Infrastructure, providing a reliable clean water supply is a top priority before the new building is fully operational. “We want to make sure that when the SBSN building starts being used, all basic needs such as clean water are already met. Therefore, we prepared an efficient and durable bore well system,” he explained.
He further added that the water pumping system will utilize a submersible pump to enhance efficiency and reliability. This type of pump was chosen for its energy-saving properties, quiet operation, durability, and ability to maintain a steady water flow.

With the new bore well in place, it is expected that all activities in the new MTsN 6 Bantul building—ranging from classroom learning to sanitation and student services—will run smoothly without any water supply disruptions. This initiative also reflects the madrasah’s commitment to becoming an environmentally friendly and self-sufficient institution, in line with the goals of the SBSN program, which focuses on improving the quality of educational services.(jks/ewh)
