Bantul – As a piloting cyber madrasah, MTsN 6 Bantul continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of education by integrating digital technology into the learning process. This commitment was realized through the Workshop on Digital-Based Assessment and Learning, focusing on the use of Canva and Artificial Intelligence (AI), held at the school’s Computer Laboratory on Friday (August 22, 2025).
The workshop was officially opened by the Head of the Bantul Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muntholib, who expressed appreciation for MTsN 6 Bantul’s initiative in developing teachers’ digital competencies. “The use of technology such as Canva and AI will greatly assist teachers in designing more creative, effective, and relevant assessments and learning processes,” he stated.
MTsN 6 Bantul Principal, Sugiyono, added that the workshop was organized in collaboration with the Educational Communication and Technology Center (BTKP) of Yogyakarta, featuring experienced facilitators. “We hope that MTsN 6 Bantul teachers will master digital skills so that classroom learning becomes more engaging, interactive, and capable of fostering students’ learning motivation,” he explained.
During the sessions, participants learned how to use Canva for creating attractive teaching media, as well as how to integrate AI technology to support assessment, test development, and lesson planning. The teachers were not only provided with theories but also given hands-on practice to immediately apply in their classrooms.
The workshop received positive responses from participants. Novara Lusy, an Indonesian language teacher, shared her impressions: “This activity has opened new insights into the use of digital technology. We feel more confident using Canva and AI as learning tools,” she said.
Through this initiative, MTsN 6 Bantul further strengthens its role as an innovative madrasah, ready to face the challenges of 21st-century education and committed to delivering creative, modern, and technology-driven learning. (ewh)
