Bantul – The Indonesian Language Teachers Working Group (MGMP) of Temanggung Regency paid a visit to MTsN 6 Bantul on Thursday (September 18, 2025). The visit served as both a friendly gathering and a platform for exchanging experiences, with the shared goal of enhancing the quality of Indonesian language learning in madrasahs, particularly in the field of literacy.
During the event, Rina Harwati, Vice Principal for Curriculum Affairs at MTsN 6 Bantul, presented the school’s vision and mission. She emphasized the institution’s dedication to shaping a generation that is Islamic, of strong character, accomplished, and prepared to face the challenges of the modern era. Rina also introduced ten flagship programs that distinguish MTsN 6 Bantul and strengthen its appeal. These include PTSP Cermat (Quick, Friendly, Easy, and Complete One-Stop Service), IMAM (Faith and Practice Program), TAPBAH (Tahfiz with Oratory Perspective), Matsanaba Dicinta di Hati (Educating with Love and Heart), MBSP (Plastic-Free School), Presentasi (Daily Achievements of Every Student), BUTERA (Literacy Culture), PERAK (Routine Religious Study on Javanese Calendar Days), JUARA (Joyful Fridays), and MITRA (Networking and Collaboration Program).
According to Rina, these flagship programs are designed not only to boost academic achievement but also to instill strong values and character among all members of the school community. “Our goal is to nurture students who are faithful, knowledgeable, and beneficial to society,” she stated. Her presentation inspired the visiting teachers, who expressed their admiration for the innovative programs developed by MTsN 6 Bantul. Many of them hoped to adapt and apply similar initiatives in their respective schools and madrasahs.
The visit concluded with an interactive discussion session, idea-sharing, and a field tour around the school. The visiting teachers paid special attention to the library and student life skills areas, which are closely tied to literacy—the central theme of the visit. These spaces illustrated how MTsN 6 Bantul integrates literacy into both academic and extracurricular activities, providing students with holistic learning experiences.
MTsN 6 Bantul Principal, Sugiyono, warmly welcomed the delegation from Temanggung and expressed his gratitude for the enriching exchange. “This visit allows us to share insights and strengthen our bonds of brotherhood. We hope that in the future, we will also have the chance to visit Temanggung,” he remarked. The successful exchange left both parties with renewed enthusiasm to collaborate in advancing education and literacy across regions.
