Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — A total of 500 teachers from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) across the Special Region of Yogyakarta took part in the 2025 National Teachers’ Day (HGN) Seminar held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at the Auditorium of PGRI University Yogyakarta (UPY). The event was organized by the Madrasah Education Division of the Regional Office of Kemenag DIY as part of efforts to strengthen teacher competence, particularly in developing humanistic and meaningful learning through a love-based curriculum approach.
In his opening remarks, Head of the Madrasah Division of Kemenag DIY, Sidik Pramono, emphasized that teachers are not merely instructors, but also mentors, role models, and drivers of change.
“Education is not only about transferring knowledge, but also about transferring compassion and exemplary behavior. When teachers teach with love, students will learn with joy and meaning,” said Sidik Pramono, receiving warm applause from the participants.
The 2025 HGN Seminar presented Nurlelah, a national education expert, as the keynote speaker. She explained that implementing a love-based curriculum in madrasahs goes beyond fulfilling administrative requirements in teaching modules. It also involves strengthening teacher–student interactions, building supportive classroom management, and promoting deep learning approaches that foster students’ sense of safety, confidence, and motivation to learn.
Participants showed strong enthusiasm throughout the presentations and discussions. Many teachers expressed that the seminar broadened their understanding of how to create a warm and nurturing madrasah environment without compromising academic achievement.
Six teachers from MTsN 6 Bantul shared that the seminar at UPY provided valuable and inspiring insights, especially regarding the application of a love-based curriculum in madrasah settings. They felt the seminar served as an important reminder that teaching is not only about delivering lessons, but also about sincerity, care, and character building.
The Principal of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono, extended his appreciation to the six teachers who participated in the seminar. “The participation of our teachers in the 2025 HGN Seminar reflects their strong commitment to continuous learning and professional growth as educators,” he said. (mid/ewh)
