Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — Students of class IX F at MTsN 6 Bantul showcased remarkable creativity and enthusiasm during the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). As part of the entrepreneurship-themed project, they were challenged to reimagine the traditional snack gethuk into contemporary culinary creations. The activity, held on Friday (21/11/2025), aimed to nurture students’ creativity, independence, and collaborative skills.
During the session, students were tasked with transforming gethuk—a classic cassava-based delicacy—into more modern and visually appealing snacks. Their creativity flourished as they experimented with various shapes, presentations, and toppings. The results ranged from adorable character-shaped gethuk, mini cakes, to beautifully decorated bite-size pieces topped with chocolate, cheese, and colorful sprinkles.
The project highlighted not only students’ technical skills but also their ability to innovate while honoring traditional Indonesian culinary heritage. By integrating modern elements into a long-loved traditional snack, students demonstrated how tradition and innovation can work hand in hand to create something fresh and exciting.
Class IX F homeroom teacher and activity supervisor, Siti Muslikah, expressed her appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and dedication. She noted that the project offered more than just cooking practice—it also introduced lessons in cultural appreciation, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. “The students were incredibly motivated and managed to create products they had never made before. It became a joyful and meaningful learning experience,” she shared.
Through this activity, students gained valuable hands-on experience that strengthened their entrepreneurial mindset. Their ability to turn simple ingredients into marketable, modern snacks reflects the core values of P5 and prepares them for future creative endeavors. (mus/sps/ewh)
