Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul)—The atmosphere of English learning at MTsN 6 Bantul was filled with joy and enthusiasm as students had the opportunity to speak directly with a native speaker from abroad. The interactive session created a lively learning environment where students felt encouraged to practice English confidently and naturally.
The presence of the native speaker made the English lesson more meaningful and engaging. Students eagerly took part in conversations, asking questions and responding in English despite still being in the learning process. Their cheerful expressions and active participation showed how direct interaction helped reduce fear and build confidence in speaking a foreign language.
Strong support for this activity was shown by the Head of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono. He expressed his appreciation for the learning experience and encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunity to practice English without hesitation. According to him, meaningful interaction with a native speaker is an effective way to improve students’ communication skills and self-confidence.
One of the most memorable moments came when a student named Maulana bravely stepped forward to speak in front of his friends. With growing confidence, he introduced himself and engaged in a short conversation with the native speaker. His courage inspired other students to follow, creating a supportive and motivating learning atmosphere.
Through this joyful and interactive activity, students not only practiced vocabulary and pronunciation but also learned that making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language.
