Taca Farm, Vinh Phuc — As part of the International Community Service Program x Global Volunteer, a University of Jember student had the opportunity to observe firsthand how Taca Farm manages the post-harvest process for its flagship commodity: VietGAP-standard strawberries. This experience provided valuable insight into how local farmers prepare high-quality produce for distribution.
VietGAP is a national standard that ensures agricultural products are grown, harvested, and processed according to strict guidelines for food safety and environmental protection. This certification assures consumers that the strawberries they purchase meet high quality and safety standards.
Students observed the sorting process of freshly harvested strawberries and had the opportunity to participate in sorting some strawberries before they were marketed. This activity involved separating ripe, quality fruit from unmarketable ones, weighing them, and ensuring each package met the required quantity and uniformity. After sorting and weighing, the strawberries were carefully packaged to maintain freshness and quality during distribution. This packaging process is a crucial part of Taca Farm’s product distribution process, especially since their products are supplied to consumers in several cities in Vietnam. To support the farm’s marketing efforts, KKN participants also helped take photos and videos of the strawberries ready for market.
Taca Farm has built a strong reputation in Vinh Phuc as a reliable strawberry distributor, known for maintaining consistent quality from cultivation to delivery. Taca Farm’s VietGAP certification contributes to the growing demand for safe and premium agricultural products and enhances customer loyalty across the region.
Through this field experience, KKN participants gained valuable experience in the practical side of agribusiness, learning how local farms combine quality control, certification standards, and marketing efforts to distribute products from Vinh Phuc’s fields to consumers across the country.
