Bantul, Monday, November 3, 2025 — The Fiqh learning session at MTsN 6 Bantul became a meaningful moment in shaping students’ religious character. In a solemn and focused atmosphere, Fiqh teacher Mrs. Isti Amanatul Qona’ah, S.Ag, conducted a prayer practice assessment for all seventh-grade students. This activity served not only as an evaluation of skills but also as a spiritual learning experience that instills the true essence of worship in students.
Headmaster of MTsN 6 Bantul, Mr. Sugiyono, S.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the Fiqh learning activity that emphasizes both understanding and practice of Islamic worship.
“This kind of activity is very important in strengthening students’ religious foundation,” he said. “Through direct practice, students not only learn how to perform salat correctly but also develop discipline, sincerity, and a sense of spiritual responsibility. These values are essential in shaping their character as Muslim students.”
The assessment was carried out in turns, with each student demonstrating the correct procedure of performing salat, starting from the intention, takbiratul ihram, bowing (ruku’), standing upright (i’tidal), prostration (sujud), sitting between two prostrations, and ending with the final salam. Every movement and recitation was observed carefully by the teacher. The evaluation focused not only on accuracy of movements but also on pronunciation, attitude, and concentration during prayer. Thus, the activity effectively integrated both theoretical understanding and practical application.
In a brief interview, Mrs. Isti emphasized the importance of such practical assessments to ensure students truly understand the meaning and proper procedures of salat as taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She highlighted that religious education should not stop at theory; it must be applied directly so that it becomes a habit in daily life. She also provided individual guidance to students who needed correction in their movements or recitations
Throughout the activity, the class environment remained orderly and enthusiastic. Students eagerly awaited their turn to demonstrate their skills, while the teacher patiently guided and encouraged them. The interaction between teacher and students created a warm and meaningful learning atmosphere. Several students shared that they felt more confident in performing their prayers after receiving direct feedback from their teacher.
Through this prayer practice assessment, MTsN 6 Bantul hopes to nurture students’ love for salat and encourage them to perform it regularly. Such consistent practice is expected to strengthen students’ religious character and develop a young generation that is obedient, disciplined, and virtuous in accordance with Islamic values taught at the madrasah.
