The regular Scout training for MTsN 6 Bantul’s Penggalang Scouts on Friday, 21 November 2025 took on a new and meaningful approach. To build courage, leadership skills, and communication abilities, members of the Scout Council were given the opportunity to lead the opening ceremony. This initiative is part of the ongoing character-building program developed by the school’s Scout leaders.
During this session, one of the Scout Council members, Arroyan Fitri Arrofah, stepped forward as the ceremony leader. With confidence, Arroyan delivered a message on the importance of discipline in scouting, particularly time discipline. She reminded the participants that a true Scout must be punctual, ready to take part in activities, and willing to follow agreed-upon rules.
“Discipline is a key principle in scouting. Starting from simple practices like arriving on time, these habits will shape responsibility and good character in daily life,” Arroyan conveyed to the training participants.
The initiative received positive feedback from the Scout leaders, who noted that involving Scout Council members as ceremony leaders helps boost their confidence, sharpen leadership abilities, and foster a strong sense of responsibility. It also serves as a platform for Council members to be role models and motivators for their peers.
“We are very proud to see the courage shown by the Scout Council members as they lead the ceremony. It’s not just about speaking in front of others, but about developing mental strength, confidence, and a sense of responsibility. Arroyan set a great example today. We hope activities like this continue to inspire other members to step forward and grow,” said Muhammad Yusuf, one of the accompanying Scout leaders.
The training session continued with enthusiastic participation from the students, who welcomed the new leadership-building approach. Through initiatives like this, MTsN 6 Bantul remains committed to shaping resilient, well-rounded Scouts who are prepared to become future leaders.(jks/ewh)
