MTsN 6 Bantul conducted a Disaster Preparedness Socialization for seventh-grade students by presenting speakers from the Bantul Fire and Rescue Department. The activity took place on Monday morning, November 17, 2025, at Mushola Al-Hikmah from 08:00 to 09:30 WIB and was met with enthusiastic participation from all attendees.
The event began with remarks from the Head of Administration, Nur Latif, who represented the principal of MTsN 6 Bantul. In his address, he highlighted the importance of early disaster education to ensure students remain alert and prepared during emergencies. Latif emphasized that such socialization efforts aim to equip students with essential knowledge and readiness when facing unexpected situations.
The representative from the Bantul Fire Department delivered material covering various types of disasters, including fires, floods, and earthquakes, along with practical safety measures applicable at school and at home. The presentation was conveyed in an engaging manner, making it easy for students to grasp the key points.
Throughout the session, students showed high enthusiasm. They actively asked questions about disaster response procedures, self-rescue techniques, and the appropriate steps to take in emergency conditions. This dynamic interaction created a learning environment that was both meaningful and informative.
In addition to the presentation, the speaker conducted demonstrations such as earthquake response techniques and safe evacuation procedures. These simulations offered students firsthand experience on how to act properly when a disaster occurs. Through this activity, MTsN 6 Bantul hopes to strengthen students’ knowledge and preparedness, reinforcing the school’s commitment to promoting safety and risk awareness within the academic community.
