The Vice Principal for Facilities and Infrastructure of MTsN 6 Bantul participated in an online Socialization Program on the Use of Main Textbooks for Madrasahs via Zoom Meeting on Friday, February 27, 2026. The event was organized by the Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Islam Kementerian Agama RI as part of efforts to strengthen textbook policy in madrasahs.
The program was officially opened by Nyayu Khodijah, Director of Curriculum, Facilities, Institutional Affairs, and Student Affairs (KSKK) for Madrasahs. In her remarks, she emphasized the importance of uniformity and standardization of Islamic religious textbooks to maintain educational quality, ensure alignment with curriculum policies, and strengthen students’ character development.
The main presentation was delivered by Muchamad Sidik Sisdiyanto, Head of the Center for the Assessment of Religious Books, Lectures, and Religious Literacy at the Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional. He explained that moving forward, every madrasah will be required to use the Main Textbook as the primary reference for Islamic religious learning. The book is developed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and has undergone an official review process to ensure the quality of its content, material standards, and alignment with madrasah education benchmarks.
It was also conveyed that technical regulations regarding the implementation of the Main Textbook are still under discussion, including whether it will be published in printed form through publishers or distributed as an electronic book. Effectiveness and efficiency remain key considerations in finalizing the policy.
Nevertheless, madrasahs are still allowed to use supplementary textbooks, provided they hold official permits and clear legal status. The Ministry’s Main Textbook has been aligned with the current curriculum, namely the Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta) and a deep learning approach. It is expected to holistically strengthen students’ character, spirituality, and competencies.
The Vice Principal for Facilities and Infrastructure of MTsN 6 Bantul stated that the socialization session is essential as a basis for planning textbook procurement and adjusting learning facilities at the madrasah. “This information serves as our reference in planning textbook needs, whether in print or digital form, in accordance with central policies,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of MTsN 6 Bantul expressed appreciation for the program. “This activity provides clarity on the direction of madrasah textbook policy. With an officially assessed Main Textbook, madrasahs now have a strong and standardized reference for religious instruction. We are ready to support its implementation, while considering the readiness of facilities and its practical effectiveness in the field,” he remarked.
Through its participation in this event, MTsN 6 Bantul demonstrates its commitment to remaining responsive to the latest policies of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and continuously improving the quality of educational services in line with current regulations and curriculum developments.
