Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — Students of MTs Negeri 6 Bantul proudly took part in the National Santri Day commemoration ceremony held at Paseban Field, Bantul, on Wednesday (October 22, 2025). The annual event brought together representatives from madrasahs, Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), and various religious organizations across Bantul. The commemoration served as a moment of appreciation and respect for the vital role of santri (Islamic students) in shaping the nation’s history, especially in their struggle for independence and the defense of national values.
The students of MTsN 6 Bantul joined the ceremony with enthusiasm and discipline, wearing white-themed Islamic uniforms that reflected purity, sincerity, and the noble spirit of santri. The event began with a flag-raising ceremony, followed by the reading of the Santri Pledge, the singing of the Santri Song, and a solemn prayer for the country. The atmosphere was filled with emotion and pride, especially during the moment of silence to honor fallen heroes, ulama, and santri who had dedicated their lives to Indonesia’s freedom.
The ceremony also featured a motivating speech from the ceremony leader, who emphasized the importance of preserving santri values such as humility, discipline, and service to the community. These values, he stated, are not only part of religious identity but also play a vital role in building a strong, moral, and united nation. The message resonated deeply with the students, who listened attentively and reflected on their own roles as the young generation of Indonesia.
The Principal of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono, expressed his appreciation and full support for the students’ participation. According to him, the commemoration of National Santri Day should not be seen merely as a formal event, but as a learning moment to nurture nationalism, sincerity, and responsibility among students. “The spirit of Santri Day reminds us that learning and serving the community are inseparable parts of building the nation’s character,” he said.
With great enthusiasm and unity, the participation of MTsN 6 Bantul students in this year’s Santri Day celebration reflects their commitment to uphold the legacy of the santri spirit. It is hoped that through such activities, students will continue to develop strong moral character, deep faith, and a sense of contribution to society — qualities that will guide them in becoming future leaders of integrity and devotion.
