Recently, the Bandung Textile Polytechnic Institute (Politeknik STTT Bandung), Guangdong Polytechnic Institute of China (GDPT), and PT Ecowell Makmur Horistik jointly held the unveiling ceremony of the Lingnan Artificial Polytechnic at the Bandung Textile Polytechnic Institute. The three parties also signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on joint development, marking the establishment of another international university-industry cooperation platform in Indonesia’s textile vocational education sector.
Yudil Chatim, a representative from Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, attended the ceremony, together with representatives from Chinese and Indonesian educational institutions and textile industry enterprises.

Under the MoU, the three parties will focus on the textile and apparel industry and develop a range of collaborative initiatives, including faculty and student exchanges, joint curriculum development, skills competitions, industrial training programs, and collaborative research and innovation in textile applications.
R. Arif Dewanto, President of the Bandung Textile Polytechnic Institute (Politeknik STTT Bandung), said the collaboration represents an important step in the institution’s development. Through the Lingnan Artificial Polytechnic, the institution will gain access to China’s established vocational education and teaching experience, expand international exchange opportunities for faculty and students, and further strengthen its textile programs, practical training, and applied research capabilities. The platform will also provide faculty and students with opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of China’s vocational education system and industrial development.
In her opening remarks, Tian Haiyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong Polytechnic Institute, expressed her hope that the three parties could make full use of the platform to draw on China’s strengths and experience in textile education and jointly develop practical talent-training programs. She also highlighted the potential of the cooperation to promote educational resource sharing and strengthen exchanges between the two countries.
Yudil Chatim, representative of Indonesia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, noted that the establishment of the Lingnan Artificial Polytechnic responds to the practical needs of Indonesia’s textile industry transformation and upgrading. By taking into account the development needs of Indonesia’s domestic textile industry, the initiative is expected to strengthen the professional skills of young Indonesians and expand their employment opportunities, while also helping meet the growing demand for locally trained technical talent among Chinese enterprises operating in Indonesia.
Following the signing of the MoU, the three parties will gradually advance a series of initiatives, including curriculum localization, faculty and student exchange programs, and industry-driven skills training. Through these efforts, they aim to develop the Lingnan Artificial Polytechnic into an international industry-education integration demonstration platform for Indonesia’s textile sector, cultivate more technically skilled textile professionals with global competitiveness, and further strengthen people-to-people, educational, and economic cooperation between Indonesia and China.
