Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) — Students of MTsN 6 Bantul participating in the Matsanaba program carried out a mini business practicum through Awareness-Based Teaching and Learning Activities (Kegiatan Belajar Mengajar / KBM Berkesadaran) with a focus on local food products. The activity took place on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Wonokromo Traditional Market as part of contextual learning that integrates nutrition education, entrepreneurship, and environmental awareness.
Through this activity, students were guided to understand the importance of consuming cereals, legumes, and tubers for maintaining good health. In addition to learning theoretical concepts, students processed local food ingredients into simple yet marketable products and directly practiced buying and selling with members of the community. This experience provided hands-on learning about balanced nutrition and creative economic activities.
The Awareness-Based KBM also aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of the potential of local food resources as an effort to reduce dependence on imported products. Students were introduced to the richness of local agricultural commodities and encouraged to recognize economic opportunities that can be developed from locally sourced, environmentally friendly, and sustainable ingredients.
Beyond selling products, students were encouraged to become agents of food literacy by sharing knowledge with their families and surrounding communities about the benefits of consuming local food. They were also guided to choose organic ingredients as a form of concern for environmental preservation and long-term health, in line with the values of a sustainable lifestyle.
The activity was guided by Arts and Crafts (SBK) teacher Wiwik Winarni. The Head of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono, expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the Awareness-Based KBM. He emphasized that learning activities like this are essential in shaping students who are nutrition-conscious, economically independent, and environmentally aware, while also recognizing and developing their own potential.
