Bantul – In support of the global movement World Clean-Up Day, MTsN 6 Bantul launched a creative initiative to raise awareness about cleanliness within the school environment. On Wednesday (September 17, 2025), colorful and educational posters were displayed at several strategic spots across the campus, with special focus on Hilal Canteen, one of the busiest areas frequented by students. The initiative seeks to make the concept of cleanliness visible, accessible, and part of daily routines.
MTsN 6 Bantul Principal, Sugiyono, explained that the posters were not merely decorative elements but powerful tools of visual communication. “These posters are essential to encourage canteen visitors to maintain cleanliness and reduce plastic waste,” he said. His statement reflected the school’s commitment to embedding environmental values into everyday practices.
The posters addressed a variety of relevant themes directly connected to canteen life. They included reminders to keep the canteen clean, guidelines on proper dining etiquette, and step-by-step instructions for correct handwashing practices. By tailoring the messages to the daily activities of students, the campaign ensured that its messages were both practical and impactful.
Designed with attractive visuals and memorable phrases, the posters served a dual purpose: beautifying the canteen space while constantly reminding students to act responsibly. Their placement in high-traffic areas turned them into gentle nudges, reinforcing positive habits without requiring constant verbal reminders from teachers or staff.
This simple yet meaningful step underscored MTsN 6 Bantul’s vision of nurturing environmentally conscious and responsible students. By integrating awareness campaigns into familiar spaces like the school canteen, the madrasah demonstrated how small-scale actions can inspire long-term behavioral change. Through efforts like this, World Clean-Up Day became not just a one-day celebration but a lasting call to action for the entire school community.
