Bantul (MTsN 6 Bantul) – Denaya Shafira Prasasti, a teaching practice student from Yogyakarta State University (UNY), successfully carried out an English learning activity by introducing an innovative teaching method called “Gallery Walk” on Monday (September 15, 2025). This approach creatively combined three important elements of learning—visual, audio, and kinesthetic—to create an unforgettable learning experience.

In its implementation, the classroom was transformed into a mini gallery or museum, where learning materials were displayed visually on different corners of the room. Denaya’s creativity received appreciation from the Head of MTsN 6 Bantul, Sugiyono. “The method is very innovative because it excites the class and accommodates all learning styles,” he remarked.

“This innovation was introduced to eliminate students’ boredom, as they usually just sit and listen to the teacher. With the topic ‘Things Around Us’, students were invited to walk around the ‘gallery’ to observe and learn the material while staying active,” explained Denaya, accompanied by her supervisor Agustin.

The learning atmosphere became even livelier with English children’s songs played throughout the lesson. The students showed great enthusiasm and became more actively engaged, providing real evidence that a change of setting can significantly increase learning interest.

Through this initiative, MTsN 6 Bantul demonstrated how innovative teaching practices can bring fresh energy to the classroom, making learning more enjoyable and meaningful for students.
